Design, Supply, Fabrication, and Testing of Stainless Steel Aeration and Settling Tanks

CLIENT: METITO
Date of award : May 2018
Completion : December 2018

Overview

This project focuses on the design, supply, fabrication, and testing of stainless-steel aeration and settling tanks, which are critical components in water and wastewater treatment processes. These tanks play a key role in the biological treatment stage, where aeration promotes microbial activity for pollutant degradation, and in the subsequent settling phase, where suspended solids are separated from the treated water.

Scope of Project

1. Design and Engineering

  • Submission of design calculations and fabrication drawings for the tanks.
  • Calculations performed manually or using STAAD software.
  • Submission of weld map drawings.

2. Material and Welding Documentation

  • Submission of Material Test Certificates (MTCs) for Stainless Steel (SS 316L).
  • Submission of Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Submission of welder qualification records.

3. Inspection and Testing Plans

  • Submission of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) for review and approval, covering:
    • Main tanks.
    • Structural works.
    • Preassembly before shipping to the site.
  • Submission of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures and NDT technician qualification records.
  • Submission of water fill test procedure.

4. Fabrication and Surface Treatment

  • Pickling and passivation for internal surfaces of fabricated stainless steel.
  • Painting in compliance with the project's coating specifications.

5. Structural Components

  • Inclusion of railings, gratings, and ladders as per project requirements.

6. Testing and Reporting

  • Submission of hydro-test reports.
  • Submission of QA/QC dossier upon job completion.
